ZAMBIA RHYTHMIt was a circumcision rhythm played in Zambia. It is played by striking two sticks against each other. 'x' denotes the right-hand stick striking the left hand stick from above. 'o' denotes the left-hand stick striking the right from above. 'k' denotes a stick hit against a wood block 1=low mingonge (x+o) 2=high mingonge (x+o) 3=tutanga (k) Mukanda: 6/8ish with a bit o' 4/4 :1 - - 2 - - 3 - - 4 - - | 1 - - 2 - - 3 - - 4 - -: :x - - o - - x - - o - - | x - - o - - x - - o - -: (#1) :x - o - x - o - x - o - | x - o - x - o - x - o -: (#2) :- - k - - k - - k - - k | - - k - - k - - k - -k : (#3) You could probably also add a bell part, and a shaker on the 1 & 3, altho that is not in the notation I found: :d d - d d - d d - d d - | d d - d d - d d - d d -: (bell) :s - - - - - s - - - - - | s - - - - - s - - - - - : (shaker)
